RCE Stettiner Haff
Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development of the United Nations University
RCE Stettiner Haff was founded in 2017 as a recognized regional competence center for sustainable development of the United Nations University after the region south of the Stettiner Haff received an award. This makes the region the first RCE in eastern Germany and, like the other six German networks, is dedicated to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
From the organic farm to the dinner plate
The argument in favor of industrial agriculture methods is that we have to feed as many people as possible. But farmers in the Bioboden cooperative, which was founded in 2009, focus on eco-friendly agriculture, conservation and animal welfare. They work with start-ups to modernize agriculture and make it more appealing.
Vision of RCE Stettiner Haff
Our goal is to focus on traditional knowledge and expertise and bring it together with global expertise and wisdom to enable formal and informal institutions and individuals to act on sustainable development goals in the regional context. Ecotourism and local healthy consumption is the strategy to help the rural and rich area for conserving nature in a politically challenging region.
