Under the management of Rewilding Oder Delta, measures were implemented to renaturalize a small wetland on the Gowienica River in Poland. For this purpose, sandbags were placed at certain tributaries along the watercourse to allow more water to accumulate and be available for the adjacent floodplains. Pablo from Weltacker was part of the project and was able to experience on site how such measures help to protect water bodies as a habitat for animals while maintaining the water balance in the landscape. Our interaction with the element of water will also be the theme of the Weltacker season. How can we get a good harvest while promoting our water balance?
