TIME FOR WATER - Exhibition opening of ResidenZ Wasser
Oktober 17, 2023 @ 5:00 p.m.

Invitation to
Opening of the exhibition "time for water" 17.10.2023
at 5 pm Torgalerie, Schlossstr. 4, 17321 Rothenklempenow
On 17.10.2023 the exhibition "time for water" will open in the Torgelarie Rothenklempenow at 5pm. At the opening, the artists and makers will present their works at 5 p.m., which were created as part of the European residency program of the same name.
The exhibition connects our senses. You see photographic staging of the use of fresh water, at a time when planetary boundaries are being transgressed, by Sophia Katharina Regner. Two works were created in Portugal and in Rothenklempenow. David Rezende will be present with his presentation and a replica of a gray water filter, which he developed for an agroforestry project. His claim was that anyone can replicate it without much means. For the ears, there will be a half-hour sound piece by music producers Lisa Wendelborn and Thomas Bendt, which was recorded using only water or drought from Portugal and Rothenklempenow. They used a special measuring device to incorporate the resonances of water into the piece via electrical currents. The pre-opening of the exhibition at Schloss Bröllin has already met with a very positive response. At the opening at 5pm, the artists will provide insights into their European residency period.
The exhibition will be on display in Rothenklempenow until 26.10.2023 and will then continue to be shown during the Museum Night Cologne at the ecosign Academy of Design.
The residents / exhibitors:
Sophia Katharina Regner an artist and sustainable designer, was able to approach the topic of water scarcity in a creative way during her two months in Rothenklempenow and Portugal. With the help of the local people and landscape, she created photographic stagings that encourage people to engage emotionally and intellectually with the problem. The photo of the man standing on his rain collection containers was taken in Rothenklempenow.
Lisa Wendelborn and Thomas Bendt are music producers who have been living in Rothenklempenow for years and are also using the theme of water and drought artistically in their residence. In their case, the focus will be on sound. What does drought sound like? How does water influence the soundscape in our landscapes and what stories can be told with it? Among other things, you will use sounds generated by a special device from anything that can conduct electricity (skin, fruit, water). The 30-minute sound piece will be heard on 17.10.2023 at the opening of the final exhibition in the Torgalerie.
David Rezende (Portugal)David Rezende is a trained permaculture expert who has made it his theme to establish a sensible water system with a gray water filter in a eucalyptus forest in the Jardim do Mira project, taking into account the requirements of the Alentejo Nature Park. Using simple means, he has succeeded in creating a wastewater filter system that works. This means that the water from the communal kitchen and the washing machine can be used on site for the agroforestry. You can see a replica in the exhibition.
How can we make more time for the future?
The residency program of the RCE Stettiner Haff, based in Rothenklempenow, has been dealing with this question since 2021. This year's European prototype brings together residents from Odemira, Portugal and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on the topic of water. Time for water. www. rce-stettinerhaff.eu
